Miles of track call to him. Usually hard to get to and requiring the patience of a seasoned hunter, the dramatic shot waits for this most patient of men. To him, planning is everything. Topography, weather, time, and traffic patterns are all researched in anticipation of that magic moment when the power rounds the bend in perfect light or when the setting sun turns the containers on a westbound freight into bricks of gold.
The never ending quest for the perfect combination of light, landscape, and railroad takes him thousands of miles each year. No distance is too far to travel for the definitive train photograph. Troy's images have been seen on magazine covers, in calendars, and are used by Class 1 Railroads and their suppliers.
