Simplicity. That's what Dan Troy is all about. He was raised in a small town in central Pennsylvania, the kind of place that you would expect to see in a black and white television show. Life didn't get very complicated in a town with five numbered streets.
Dan's vision still reflects that simple upbringing, even after getting a degree in photography and moving to a big city. “The simpler a message can be communicated, the more effective it will be. The magic in a still life is being able to control the light and subject to precisely convey your message.” He applies this vision to catalog product photographs as well as photographic illustrations for advertising.
When Dan is not working in the studio, he can be found photographing railroads throughout the US and Canada. His extensive stock library of rail images is used by railroads, rail industry suppliers, trade publications, and calendars. Dan is also an amateur musician, and member of the Bucks County CCC Symphonic Band and Chamber Winds Ensemble. Any remaining free time is spent handcrafting furniture. « return to portfolio page
